The reference to HCR 2022 and what it would have accomplished is false. HCR 2022 would have proposed a change to the AZ constitution regarding primary voting law for U.S. Senate candidates and if passed, would have required voter approval to initiate the change. I did not and could not have made this change via the legislative bill process as it would be a change to the constitution. I wanted to give the voters the option to change the law via the ballot box if they so chose to do so. A House Concurrent Resolution or HCR cannot change law, it can only ask the voters to do so.
