This article is written in Hong Kong English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, travelled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
The article is generally vague and imprecise in dealing with the essential distinction between the English words and the Cantonese/Mandarin ones and their respective usage. It is also completely insensitive to the fundamental distinction between the use of the English words in text (common) and in speech by Cantonese speakers (virtually nill). Credible sources (other than cute anecdotal stuff) are hard to come by but the effort ought to be made, indeed editors need to 加油 here. difficult to translate, but could be considered somewhat analogous to the canadian english 'giv'er', which means to give it all you've got.
