Original air dates[edit]

I see the original air dates for season 1 were altered. Are those the original air dates from Canada, and did they air there beofre they aired in the United States? In the United States season 1 did not air until mid and late 1992. It might be a better idea to list both the original airdate in Canada and the date in the U.S., or if we just list one date, we should provide an explanation. -Kedem69.230.61.64 (talk) 07:21, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I second the notion of listing both Canadian and American original air dates. 69.250.124.100 (talk) 03:20, 15 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I "third" the notion.  The absence of the original Canadian airdates seems a grave oversight, especially considering that the original Canadian airdates are more truly "original."  allixpeeke (talk) 09:56, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Villains"[edit]

I feel that "villain" is not necessarily the best term for that category, as many of the "villains" are not particularly villainous. I've changed it to "antagonist(s)" in lieu of a better term. 75.15.121.8 (talk) 23:31, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have since removed the entry entirely as WP:OR. For example for Zeebo, is the villain Zeebo for ebing a ghost, or is the villain the kid for stealing his nose? If these were included then they would need links to WP:RS. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 16:40, 2 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum regarding AirDates et. al.[edit]

Seems to me that some kind of Canada/U.S. listing is in order, and some pages do, in fact, have that. As far as "antagonists" goes, I approve. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.24.155.154 (talk) 14:15, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Questioning calling first revival "season 6" and "season 7" – we need to reorganize this page[edit]

I have just reversed an IP edit from February 29, 2020 that called the second revival "season 8" at this article. I am quite certain that this is WP:UNDUE, and that Reliable sources do not regularly call the 2019 revival "season 8".

By the same token, I am unconvinced that the first revival's seasons should be called "season 6" and "season 7" here either. Now these have been named as such at this article since at least 2010, so I'm not going to change these without discussion. But, again – my guess is that the WP:RSs do not refer to the first revival's seasons "season 6" and "season 7", and we should instead endeavor to come up with an alternate way to identify the seasons of the 1999 and 2019 revivals. (This will become even more important when the second season of the 2019 revival airs...)

My suggestion is that we "section" this page's list of episodes by series – IOW, we have a "1991–1996 series" section (covering "seasons 1–5"), a "1999–2000 series" section (covering the two seasons of that series), and then finally a "2019–present" section (covering the 1–2 seasons of the recent series).

I don't know what to do with the 'series overview' table – I would suggest doing something like Template:Series overview#Multi-series franchise to handle this.

Thoughts? --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:06, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree that a distinction between each of the three series would make this page more clear. I think it's odd that only the most recent is referred to as the revival when the 1999-2000 series was clearly a revival, as well. I think the proposed change would line up with how List of Are You Afraid of the Dark? cast members is currently. Cheers! --Engineerchange (talk) 00:14, 29 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I've reorganized the article to treat each one of the three series in separate sections under 'Episodes', restarting the season numbering with each revival series. I believe this is the best and most logical arrangement here as, again, no one refers to the first season of the 1999 revival as "season 6", etc. --IJBall (contribstalk) 19:08, 11 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a need for duplication of information with the headers? The same information can be presented as per the example at Template talk:Series overview without the need for cluttering the table. -- /Alex/21 01:42, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think it looks better with both. Frankly, I like the 'colspan' section headers more than the first 'Series' column, so if consensus is to "simplify", I vote for keeping the 'colspan' table section headers over keeping the first 'Series' column (as in your example). But my preference is for the current series overview table, as maximizing presentation of information. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:52, 12 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Episode plots[edit]

I have noticed, while reading this article that the plots for the 1992 to 1997 original are you afraid of the dark series are there and of course the first series revival from 1999 to 2000 are also there and so are the second series revival in the miniseries format, such as Carnival of doom 2019 and curse of the shadows 2021 they are all good and well written to where it describes the episodes as they happened however, the plots for ghost Island, 2022 are missing even though I know, the first episode has two titles because they were edited together to make one special originally it was to have four episodes, but because of that special it was shortened to three episodes within the season Green skull (talk) 21:33, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
