Untitled[edit]

I changed the cast listing to their actual first and last appearances, instead of just the first and last episodes of the seasons they were in. Just giving the heads up. Mickey123 02:52, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cast List[edit]

This page is just a mess, I'm cleaning it by making the cast list more coherent to read. I'm finally removing this unexplained asterisks. Why they have remained for this long is beyond me. Water78 (talk) 09:10, 9 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised this change hasn't generated more discussion - is anyone else even paying attention? I agree in theory that the page needed cleaning up, but I don't think this was the right way to do it - for one, the tables on the previous version that showed which seasons each cast member had which roles (featured, main, guest) were useful and are now lost. The new version has some other problems as well - the "Best of" column serves almost no purpose, for one. I don't know what all the asterisks were either, but I think an ideal version of this page would be a compromise between the previous version and the current one. --Fru1tbat (talk) 14:43, 16 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed the best of column, I also found it not to serve that great of importance overall. For anyone reading this now and doesn't understand what Fru1tbat meant about tables on the previous page, here is an example:

Before I made my edits, there were tables (like the one above) for different eras of the cast. So, there was one for the original cast, one for the people who joined in the late 90's, one for the people who joined in the early 00's and then one for the late 00's. Personally, I found the tables to be extremely confusing to read. That wasn't just because of the unidentifiable asterisks that were spread everywhere.

I thought this page could use a more condensed version that was more concise and easier to read . Which is why I edited to make the page look as it does. I understand why my edits can be frustrating, I don't believe this page has undergone a major change since probably when MadTV was still in production.

I like my edits, each performer has there individual row, clickable links to the years they were on the show. Meaning if you wanted to learn more about Crista Flanagan's time on the show, for example, you could click on 2005 and be directed to the season where she first joined the show. Also listed is the year when the performer left the show. Next to this is the amount of seasons the certain performer was on the show. Listed next to that is where the person was a featured player or repertory player. Finally, there is a row for if that person guest starred after leaving the show. All of this information was collected from the individual season pages. (this note is for the person who put the unreferenced block down)

I would love to further this discussion and eventually have a general census for what the end result shall be. If people prefer the older version, or a mixture of both, I would willing to help contribute to restoring the changes I made. Water78 (talk) 21:20, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
