Article issues[edit]

Today several edits were made to this list which I think are undesirable. First, several redlinks were added, without any indication that those journals may be notable. Second, the journals were classed in three "tiers". A reference was provided to a self-published compilation of journal rankings. This is, therefore, not a reliable source. Worse, a far as I can see, this reference does not even support these three tiers. Third, a non-existing v=category "Journal Ranking" was added to the article, although categories should not be redlinks. Before somebody creates this category, it would seem to be a superfluous and unnecessary one: all our articles about journal ranking are categorized in the "academic publishing" category and this article does not belong in that category, nor in a hypothetical "Journal Ranking" cat, becaus it is not about ranking, but just presents an insufficiently-sourced ranking of a small subset of journals. I have tried to address these issues on the (new) editor's talkpage, but got no response, except immediate restoration of this content without any explanation. As I reverted already two times, I tagged the article for cleanup and provide an explanation of the reasons why this is needed here. --Guillaume2303 (talk) 20:53, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
