Adebambo Toluwanimi Ayotomiwa "Ade" Akinjogbin (born 1 December 1999) is a footballer who plays as a midfielder.

Club career[edit]

Born in London, Akinjogbin began his footballing career with grassroots sides Hampstead and AFC Wembley.[1][2] He spent time with the academy of Brentford, before dropping down to non-league level to play for Abbey Rangers.[3]

In August 2017, Akinjogbin made a shock move to Premier League side Chelsea, joining alongside other non-league players Renedi Masampu and Tushaun Walters.[4] However, after failing to have an impact on the under-18 side, he was released by the club in the January transfer window.[5]

In 2018, having featured for Wingate & Finchley's youth teams earlier in the year,[6] he moved to the United States, enrolling at the Wofford College and joining the college's soccer team, the Wofford Terriers.[3] After two years with Wofford, in which he featured twenty times, scoring once, Akinjogbin transferred to the Duquesne University, and went on to make twenty-nine appearances for the university soccer team, the Duquesne Dukes, over three seasons.[7]

While in the United States and playing university soccer, Akinjogbin was on the roster of USL League Two side Dayton Dutch Lions in 2021, though he did not feature.[8] The following year, he played for semi-professional side Pittsburgh Hotspurs in the National Premier Soccer League.[9]

International career[edit]

Akinjogbin is of Nigerian descent, making him eligible to represent the nation at international level.[4]
