Killer whales and YouTube videos[edit]
Thanks for your interest. Unless there is something I don't know, I disagree with you. I didn't link to the You-Tube video but cited it as reference which is different. You have probably seen the video by now in all its graphic detail. There are about four separate insertions of it into You-Tube and so I assume it to to be well established in the public domaine. My work is in medicine and we publish all the time and we deal with copyright issues by citing original sources. Is there a difference in requirements for Wikipedia? I did consider the possibility of a swimmer exposing himself to danger based on the rosy account in Wikipedia, all that might happen is a tap on the shoulder, as being a liability for Wikipedia. Perhaps the boy wanted to swim with the whales assuming them to be benign. Please let me know how to proceed if I want to have the edit accepted. Thank you. - Wikipedia's verifiability policy says, in part, "Any material lacking a reliable source directly supporting it may be removed. [...] The burden of evidence lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and is satisfied by providing a reliable source that directly supports the material."
- WP:VIDEOLINK says in part, "If using the link as a source to support article content, then you must establish that the uploader and the video meet the standards for a reliable source. You did not provide a link to the videos on which you rely, but you are relying on them to support your assertions.
- This appears to relate to one or more of following YouTupe videos
- Guy eaten by killer whale on the shore, uploaded by a YouTube user with the handle ShawtyB0y
- orca eats boy, uploaded by a YouTube user with the handle andertep
- Killer Whale Comes Ashore to Eat Boy!, uploaded by a YouTube user with the handle Ralph Fiscus
- Killer whale kill young boy, uploaded by a YouTube user with the handle nana447
- and/or some similar videos.
- Regarding those videos, hoaxslayer.com's brief analysis says, "The video is not real footage and the man was not eaten by the killer whale. In fact, the video is a TV ad for La Sirena, a retail chain located in the Dominican Republic." More info can be seen here. This snopes.com article has similar information. However, that aside, the burden of proof does not rest with editors who doubt the video to disprove its authenticity, the burden to show that it comes from a reliable source lies with the editor who adds content supported by it. Map of state religions[edit]

I uploaded a new version of that map (File:Map of state religions.svg) according to a request from a user in the mapping workshop in Spanish wikipedia, with appropriate references (see here) but it's all I have to say about the verifiability of the images, I would have more to contribute with it.

Emilio Aguinaldo - citations[edit]
I'm just going through the zillions of citations here. Almost straight away I have a problem: the citation for Henri TUROT has a French title and an English title. But as far as I can see, they are two different books. Can you shed light? Maybe I'm wrong anyway - I'll look again. "The FBI Criminal Justice Information Services Division's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) Section has processed firearm background checks since November 30, 1998. Since that time, the experience gained enhances national security and public safety by identifying, developing, and implementing improvements in support of the NICS Section's mission. Striving to provide effective and efficient service to its customers, highlights of the NICS operations in 2011 include the following: From the inception of the NICS on November 30, 1998, to December 31, 2011, a total of 140,882,399 transactions have been processed. - OK. It looks like I misread this. My edits were prompted by seeing a recent article addition via my watchlist. I haven't been following this article or this topic closely (from your recent edits, it looks as if you have). In quickly reading small bits of the report, I had misread the 16,454,951 figure as the total number of NCIS checks processed in 2011 for all reasons (firearms background checks being, I misunderstood, one reason of many) and "1,071,459 firearms and explosives transactions" as the fraction of that number which were firearms & explosive checks. On rereading, I see that the 16,454,951 figure appears to be total firearms and explosives checks in 2011 and the 1,071,459 figure appears to be the fraction of that which were processed via e-check. sorry about the confusion, and thanks for the correction. WikiCup 2013 February newsletter[edit]
Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.
Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:
Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with 
Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.
Other contributors of note include:
Sven Manguard (submissions), whose Portal:Massachusetts is the first featured portal this year. The featured portal process is one of the less well-known featured processes, and featured portals have traditionally had little impact on WikiCup scores.
Sasata (submissions), whose Mycena aurantiomarginata was the first featured article this year.
Muboshgu (submissions) and 
Wizardman (submissions), who both claimed points for articles in the Major League Baseball tie-breakers topic, the first topic points in the competition.
Toa Nidhiki05 (submissions), who claimed for the first full good topic with the Casting Crowns studio albums topic.
Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by 
The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...
March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!
A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. - That is not out of line with what I have read elsewhere and what my edits have tried to put into relevant WP articles. Article content does tend to drift over time, and unreliable content does tend to creep in. I try to keep an overview of articles in this area, but I don't keep a close eye on every edit and I'm sometimes surprised at having to correct content-creep that I had not noticed. Re McKinley's intentions -- on August 23 1899, McKinley didn't have the beginnings of a clue as to what his intentions were. He sent toe Schurman Commission to the Philippines in 1899 to help him figure that out. looking for info[edit]
Can you recommend any books that deal with WWII? Nothing too heavy, but I'm trying to flesh out references to "the Battle of Bantayan" (on for instance Madridejos, Cebu). I'm not even convinced that there really was any battle, but I suspect it wouldn't have been more than a fringe activity of the Battle of Leyte. - I don't recall anything and could not come up with anything in some quick googling. I'm on Romblon island at the moment and most of my books are on a bookshelf on Boracay. I've got a number of books on Philippine history and a few on WW-II in the Pacific, but I don't recall having read anything about a WW-II Battle of Bantayan. I've been to Bantayan a couple of times and a couple of my friends live there. Warren, MA[edit]
Town Hall History and Debate There have been several edits to the Warren history page. Why are you constantly changing the and censoring the point of view of residents of the town of Warren, MA? What interest do you have in our town? I live here and I cannot state even a balanced opinion of our Town Hall. I have never heard anything about a Barnes and Noble which is ludicrous. The building in on the National Register of Historic Places and is an iconic part of our downtown.
- This was in apparent mistaken reaction to some anti-vandalism edits I made to the Warren, Massachusetts article. One of those edits was this one, which removed some unsupported material which had been added. The removed material included mention of a Barnes and Noble bookstore. I vaguely recall the "sikhism=" and, as I recall, I made the revert based on the judgement that the text as it appeared looked like a rough draft and not like something which should appear in a finished encyclopedia article. - I took a re-look at the edit characterization which you questioned, and it looks like you're right. My error; my fault; apologies for that. I've been having connectivity problems lately -- it sometimes takes literally several minutes for me to get a diff between two article versions, and I didn't do a lot of re-verifying of diffs. It looks like I probably mis-designated the versions of interest there and didn't notice what I had done. If you want, I'll own up to my error there on the article talk page, but I think that would be a distraction from "regardless of how the article got into its current state, ...". - VALID REALITY, the Laser article doesn't need a link to MASER in the "See also" section. In general, articles should only be linked in "See also" if a link to them does not already appear somewhere else in the article. "See also" is a place to collect links that really ought to be in the article, but are not. - As I recall, I saw this edit in a P:huggle session and my eye picked up on the previous-version pane instead of the edited-version pane. I clicked revere&warn and had gone on to the next article to be reviewed when my thinking caught up with my mouseclicking. I backed up and looked at my revert and saw that I had made a mistake -- your edit was what I had been intending (per WP:GTL). I self-reverted my mistaken revert I tried to revert the warning too (huggle had placed that warning). I thought that I had done that, but I now see that the warning wasn't undone -- apparently there was an edit conflict between Huggle and SuggestBot over that. Brown recluse spider globalize tag[edit]
How can one show a "worldwide view" on a species that's endemic to only part of the United States? There are certainly other species of recluses in other parts of the world, but this isn't an article about them. If there's something about the language or the illustrations used that needs to be fixed, you need to be more specific- otherwise people will just scratch their heads and remove the tag. I've replied to your comment, at Wikipedia:Today's_featured_article/requests#Freedom_for_the_Thought_That_We_Hate.
- The article was nominated previously, and failed to be featured on the Main Page after that discussion.
- It was not easy to write the article, nor subsequently to bring it to WP:GA quality, and then to WP:FA quality. But I feel the effort was worth it.
- And then of course it was disappointing when the first discussion at WP:TFAR was unsuccessful.
- So after that I waited a few months before renominating.
- And now it is a candidate for a 2nd time at WP:TFAR.
- We could always wait 100 years for the centennial anniversary of the book's publication. But I think that there really is no need to wait for the "perfect date", so to speak. It'd be a great educational article for the readers, on any day at all!

Change to Fishers Island article[edit]
I have no idea why you thought my change to the article was a "test" and reverted it. The original had a sentence pointing out that there was a petition on change.org to change the ownership of Fishers Island from NY to NJ. This petition has fewer than 70 signatures, and is the dream of some bored teenager with too much time on his hands or something. It is way too insignificant to be included in an encyclopedia. - I had pulled the vandalism revert trigger on an edit to the article which I had seen in a WP:Huggle session, and then quickly pulled the self-revert trigger on that action and the associated warning. I haven't looked closely at the article or at its edit history but, on reconsideration, the part visible from Huggle didn't look like vandalism and I thought that I'd better leave making improvements to more regular editors of the article. BACKLOG OF THE WEEK Category:Pages with broken reference names[edit]
Hello - some editors fight off the vandal hordes, as I do repairing pages with citation errors. If I didn't - there would be a large backlog in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting and in Category:Pages with missing references list as in Category:Pages with broken reference names (more than 1500 yesterday). But it is impossible to work it alone. Do you know how to do a "Blitz" (excuse the comparision) to find willing editors to work on it. It is much more easier to repair references if you do it one hour, one day or one week ago after the errors were made instead of months and years after the error was done. Very, very difficult to find these errors.
Only with WikiBlame Search it is possible to find and repair such errors.

We have added five columns reflecting this work assessment, where a red X indicates improvement is needed. Placing your cursor over an X should give you a pop-up with a short description of the work needed. The five columns seek to answer the following five questions:

HCPUNXKID edit-warring and 3RR violation on South Vietnam[edit]
Hi Wtmitchell, could you please intervene on the South Vietnam article and page-protect the article? The user HCPUNXKID changed the status of S Vietnam in the article's infobox from "Sovereign state", the original longstanding text, to "Client state of the United States" 4 times. HCPUNXKID's edit is clearly biased and violates NPOV, and it is highly controversial and disputed even in academic circles. Sources he used includes one from the Peace Pledge Union (which lacks NPOV and credibility and even got the date for the Fall of Saigon wrong), another from a poetry site (not an acceptable reference since this isn't a poetry-related article), and one from a bookstore review of a book critical of the U.S. involvement in Vietnam... In the past, there were edit wars over the U.S. client state status, at least 2 i can recall since 2010, and it was consistently rejected. HCPUNXKID also wrote this in his recent edit summary: "If we removed client state status from here, same had to be done with all the soviet satellite states, otherwise will be a clear breach of NPOV". He's using the South Vietnam article as a pawn to achieve his personal interests on other articles under the veil and excuse of NPOV, implying that the client state status on Soviet bloc country articles be removed in return for having the client state status removed from S Vietnam, even though the client state status of Soviet bloc nations is generally accepted by the vast majority of academics and is properly sourced from neutral, nonpartisan sources (unlike his anti-war and anti-U.S. sources). So, according to Nguyen1310, books or articles published by the University Press of Kentucky and the University of North Carolina, and even based on US Department of State sources are anti-USA and partisan, how we had not saw it before? Leaving irony aside, as far as I know, WP consist on bringing reliable sourced content, and thats what I have done, with more sources than in the majority of cases (I suggest to read them and compare with other cases, like South Yemen -one source-, People's Republic of Poland -no sources- or People's Republic of Bulgaria -no sources-). - So your reference from the "Peace Pledge Union", a clearly unreliable, non-academic source from a special interest group with anti-VN War views and visible opposition to the US-RVN war effort on the Vietnam War, is what you call "non-partisan", "neutral" and "reliable"? How about the "Replacing France: The Origins of American Intervention in Vietnam" source ,which also has a biased slant, such as labelling U.S. policy in SVN as "imperialist", atop of labelling SVN a client state? Also, a book review isn't really credible as a source for content, esp. major ones like this. Merely using articles/books just because they're published by a university, regardless of the content's quality contained in the publication, is not enough. Politically controversial authors, like Noam Chomsky, have published their controversial works through universities. The content under dispute, being the status of South Vietnam (and ONLY of South Vietnam), has absolutely nothing to do and no relevance with Soviet bloc countries and the 2 are entirely separate entities, so editing these 2 entities are done completely independent of each other; yet when you say "If we removed client state status from here, same had to be done with all the soviet satellite states, otherwise will be a clear breach of NPOV" in your South VN edit summary, it is very clear that you are blackmailing the South Vietnam article to achieve personal goals on these other Soviet bloc nation articles, to have the "client/satellite status" of these communist bloc countries removed to make them appear "independent". Ironic how your point to my user page claiming personal ideological interests, when your own ideological interests can be found on your OWN user page, such as "This user does not trust theUnited States as far as they can throw it" or " This user supports the anarchist movement". Now, i propose that, being the status of South Vietnam is inconsistent in the academic community, some considering RVN to be independent and sovereign, some claim otherwise, that the status section be left blank. - This was in response to my revert of this edit, which changed the description of a book from book to fraud, without citing support. The most relevant WP policies here are probably WP:DUE (part of WP:NPOV) and WP:OR. The answer to the question of whether the book has sufficient topical weight to justify its specific mention there should be arrived at by WP:consensus of editors arrived at by discussion on the article's talk page. - Q:How did you come to choose the area(s) you specialize in, or what drew you to the types of subjects you write about?
- I had edited occasionally as an anon beginning probably sometime in 2003 or 2004. I created a WP userid on November 17, 2004. Looking at my edit history, I see that I made seven article edits in 2005; four of the articles having to do with the Philippines, and two of those four being to the Boracay article. That makes sense, as I had early-retired from the U.S. to Boracay island in 1996. Living in the Philippines, I increasingly developed an interest in Philippine history and other Philippine-related topics, and began to edit articles in that area. At the time, that topical area was not well developed in WP, and I became an early strong contributor and sometime article creator to in that area. I was not and am not tightly focused in that area, however. I tend to edit articles where I see an opportunity to contribute or to fix a problem, regardless of topic; those edited articles then become watchlisted, and seeing later changes draws me back to them.
- Q:Generally speaking, what should be covered in an article on your preferred subject(s)? How do you structure your articles?
- I think I took my early guidance from WP:BETTER and project pages and essays linked from there. I remember that WP:GTL and WP:CITE played a big part for me ad an editor early-on. I was not the creator of most of the articles I edited, and I mostly worked with structure and focus which had been established by earlier editors.
- Q:What kinds of sources do you recommend using?
- I live mostly on Boracay island and in Romblon, Romblon in the Philippines. With no access to bookstores or libraries in either place. I use mostly online sources and try to pay attention or WP:RS considerations. I use online previewable books quite a lot. On occasional trips to Manila, I buy a lot of books on Philippine history, have added those to my bookshelves in Boracay and Romblon, and tend to refer to and cite from those books which I have acquired.
- Q:Have you found it easy to obtain online sources? What about free images?
- Fairly easy -- sources moreso than images.
- Q:Biases exist in many forms -- how have you dealt with any biases in sources?
- Q:How do you deal with with language barriers in both the subject and the sources about it (e.g. a non-English source)?
- I'm functionally monolingual, and try to stick to English sources. I do use online translators from time to time; I try not to take the (not RS) translation results literally but, rather, to use the glimmerings I find there to look for online RSish English languages sources expressing similar views to what I gleaned from the translations.
- Q:What are the most common issues you strike when submitting your articles to formal review?
- I haven't ever submitted an article for formal review.
- Q:Do you think that the Military history wikiproject's focus is too heavily weighted towards particular topics?'
- I'm not a part of the project. I was pointed to this survey as an editor working on topics which are under-represented in the English Wikipedia.
- Q:What suggestions would you make to editors considering working in a lesser-known field of military history?
- None, offhand.

Hi!First of all,I would like to apologize on the way i edited the article about Malay,Aklan. With my too much enthusiasm to correct the articles relating to our Province, I was not able to realize that my act may lead to an "Edit War" which is being discouraged by Wikipedia and perhaps I may have offended you. Again, my apologies.
Going back to the administration of Boracay, the executive order issued by the President does not divest the administrative function of the Municipality of Malay over Boracay. The E.O. only empowers the Eminent Persons to oversee the Tourism Development of the island. Further, an E.O. can never repeal or amend the Republic Act that has created the Municipality of Malay that covers the 3 barangays of Boracay.

- Thanks for the heads-up; I've self-reverted that. This was in reaction to an article blanking I saw during a WP:Huggle session. Huggle normally notifies on an attempt to unblank a page blanked by the creator and offers to delete instead. I either did not get the notification in this case or somehow missed seeing it. - Re this edit (currently reverted) and subsequent unreverts by User:NaysanFaizi, NaysanFaizi seems to be a well-intentioned newbie who is editing in good (if not well informed) faith. He is flirting with a WP:block for edit warring, but he hasn't been warned about that or pointed to WP:BRD. User:Philip Trueman has repeatedly reverted his edits, apparently perceiving them as vandalism, but has neither explained his reverts nor issued warnings. Given that situation, and given the WP:COI issues you mentioned here, I think it would be best for NaysanFaizi to open up a discussion section at Talk:World_citizen and outline his suggestion for added content there -- the content might be added as a new section in that article or as an appropriately titled and properly disambiguated separate article.
- I see some unrelated issues which look like they deserve attention, but won't complicate this by mentioning those here.

It is untrue that I have refused to engage in a conversation with him - I posted the initial {{welcome}} on his talk page, with additional suggestions that he read WP:SOAPBOX and WP:COI, and I'm currently waiting to see some evidence that he has in fact read them. If NaysanFaizi wishes to pursue his own agenda then he should kindly do it somewhere else; if he wishes to engage with Wikipedia then he should persuade some uninvolved editor to start a new article about his company, establishing notability and so forth. New User Problems[edit]
Hi Bill, I created an account on Wikipedia earlier today and made edits on two pages. I received messages on my talk page saying that my edits constitute vandalism and have been reverted. I'm new to Wikipedia and obviously have gone about editing incorrectly. Clearly I must go back to the Help page and read the instructions more carefully before I try modifying pages again. - Hi Caroline. I see that you are new as a registered editor. Welcome to Wikipedia.
- Firtstoff, for ease of contextual reference, it seems that you're referring to these reverts: [5] [6].
- The first of those was by me. It was done during a WP:Huggle session. Revert decisions during a Huggle session tend to be made quickly based on a diff between two article versions. Looking back, it looks like I reverted based on this diff -- I probably reacted to what I saw as a confusing addition of a (second!) raw URL to the impacted source description. Huggle apparently went on to revert a number of immediately previous edits by you as well. I probably ought to have looked at the result of Huggle's actions more closely at the time, but I don't think that I did. Looking quickly back at that now, I have the following thoughts about your changes reverted here:
- (see Wikipedia:Citing sources) The article relies both on specific cites and on general references. One of the specific cites refers to one of the general references. I think that your removal of the Sources subheading confused that, but that sort of stylistic detail ought to be determined IAW WP:MOS guidelines by stylistic consensus between editors of an article.
- You added a general reference to a book (see [7]). I wonder whether this book was used as a reference in the composition of the WP article, or whether it is offered as a suggestion for further reading. If the latter, it ought to have been placed in a Further reading section (see WP:GTL).
- The mention of related-reading material in reference to the book, particularly by adding raw URLs, looks gratuitous, ugly, and not in keeping with the format of other general references in the article. I'm guessing that this is what motivated me revert of one of your edits from Huggle, leading to the chain-reaction revert of a series of your edits.
- The other revert was by WP:CLUEBOT. It looks to me as if you were trying to add this same book as a further reading suggestion to another article, and Cluebot, not understanding what you were trying to do, treated it as vandalism. Cluebot probably would not have reverted that if you had made the addition either prior to the {{Refend}} just above your reverted addition or if you had added a Further reading section to the article and placed your addition there.

Medieval Christian views on Mohammad[edit]
Sir,
The previous entry you have entered had been marked as vandalism. I kindly ask you to refrain from doing so. The verses from the Quran you have picked have been taken out of context. The controversial "Sword Verse" that you picked is directly to Mohammad, not other Muslims, and only to entities that have broken treaties with the Muslims.
The Quran speaks greatly of the Christians: "And thou wilt find the nearest of them in affection to those who believe (to be) those who say: Lo! We are Christians. That is because there are among them priests and monks, and because they are not proud. When they listen to that which hath been revealed unto the messengers, thou seest their eyes overflow with tears because of their recognition of the Truth. They say: Our Lord, we believe. Inscribe us as among the witnesses.

- This concerns this revert and the associated vandalism warning here. The reverted edit had replaced cite-supported content with unsupported content, and the vandalism warning reflected that. The content which the revert restored asserted, "In contrast to the Islamic views of Muhammad, the Christian image stayed highly negative for over a millennium. ...", citing the following in support of the sentence quoted here
- this britannica.com article which says, in part, "... Christian polemical writings characterizing Muhammad as an apostate if not the Antichrist. These date back to the early Middle Ages and still influence to some degree."
- page 14 of this book (in which I have not confirmed support because I do not have access to that source)
- page 231 of this book (in which I have not confirmed support because I do not have access to that particular page).

- Ayyoob's edit was completely unwarranted, and has nothing to do with citation or interpretation of the Qur'an. That medieval Christianity had such a negative view of Islam and its prophet is a matter of record, and so obviously true that it barely needs citation. All one has to do is read Dante's Inferno, Canto 28. At any rate they should have taken it to the talk page before further edit-warring, where it should be laughed out of court. Frankly, I don't understand the objection in the first place. "Political circumstances of the time" is also a great simplification of the issue, but that's another matter. - I have not been and am not following this on the article talk page. I have little or no interest in the article topic. I was in a WP:Huggle session and saw this edit, which replaced sourced content with unsourced content and gave what looked like a POV-biased edit summary. After a quick look at the sources cited in the content which had been replaced, I reverted the edit on the basis that supporting sources had not been cited. - I am afraid that you have misunderstood me, I am simply stating that the previous entry was offensive due to the nature it was presented. The passage indicated that Islam was instructed to be spread by the sword, and represents an unfair bias towards Muslims. I agree with you wholeheartedly that the relationship between the religions was abysmal and Christian views of Mohammad were more so, but I will restate that the manner that which information was presented in was offensive. More to the point, the article claimed the Quran instructed Muslims to attack 'infidels' which led to the cause of this discrepancy.

- I'm really not enthusiastic about continuing this, but the content which my revert restored read as follows (see here):

- I don't see any indication there that Islam was instructed to be spread by the sword, nor did I see any such indication in the one source cited which I was able to review (see my earlier responses above for more on that).
- As far as your perception of offensiveness, in my initial response to you above I asked that you look at Wikipedia:Offensive material. That WP content guideline says, in part, "Wikipedia's encyclopedic mission encompasses the inclusion of material that may offend. Wikipedia is not censored." It goes on to suggest editing in a manner which softens that a bit. I don't understand how you might perceive the text (quoted above) which my revert restored as offensiive, but your perception of offensiveness of that material does not justify your censoring it, and does not justify replacing that source-supported content with unsupported content. edits to Eastern High School[edit]
Sorry for leaving the edits there. I was using it to teach a lesson to some kids about how anyone can edit Wikipedia, and how they should be sure to check sources on the wiki pages when they are doing research on topics. I meant to change it back after school was done, but it looks like you got to it before me.

- Don't use a mainspace article for this. Nonconstructive edits to mainspace articles (even temporary ones) are vandalism. Alternatives include
- Use WP:Sandbox. If you need the content of a WP article as an example, edit that article, copy its wikitext, paste it into a sandbox, and edit it there.
- Create a free account, Log in, and edit a pre-prepared article in that account's userspace.

- It seems to me that you have a disagreement with Wikipedia's policies on Original research (particularly with WP:PRIMARY there), on Identifying reliable sources, and possibly on Verifiability. Hello You just reverted one of my last changes to Zac Barnett and I have a good reason for you to undo it. I started by using Taylor Swift's article on Wikipedia as a template. - Looking at the article, I see that you have unreverted it yourself. Feel free to remove the associated warning from your talkmpage. I suggest, however, that you do the early draft parts of article development as a userspacdraft -- moving the arrticle into mainspace only after it is minimally ready for prime time. - This concerns this revert. I did the revert from WP:Huggle, which is why the edit summary and the warning are a bit sttited -- they're canned messages. Please see WP:V and WP:BURDEN. If you re-add the tidbit, please supply a bit of context along with it (a date -- even a year -- would be nice, as would some background -- perhaps http://articles.latimes.com/1986-01-14/sports/sp-28009_1_adidas-headband this source would be useful).
