The African 10,000 Challenge
Improve/create any article on anywhere in Africa whenever you feel like it and list it!...

60.93%

Since September 2016, we have been working to reach 10,000 article improvements for Africa from a series of regional contests and general independent article contribution. I encourage all editors from Africa (and elsewhere!) to contribute towards this as I think seeing 10,000 article improvements/creations on one list would be something monumental in wikipedia's history and something really worth working towards long term. It would be almost 1/500 of the entire encyclopedia and make a massive difference towards overall article quality on an area of the world which is very poorly undeveloped overall. Anybody can contribute any article on any country and topic in Africa to add to this list independently whenever they feel like it. Article cleanup and basic referencing improvements, expansions, new articles, DYKs, Good Articles, Featured Articles etc, are all welcome, though try to make new entries minimum start class entries with 1 kb of readable prose if possible, as the goal is to drastically reduce the number of stubs overall. We want to both inject quality into African articles and makes them more consistent in quality but also aim to make African coverage more comprehensive by creating new entries.

The half-way mark was reached on 24 July 2021.

This will be the inaugural contest, being held from October 15 to November 27 2016 and needs contributors working on articles of all subjects for every country in Africa! Please list articles you have improved here, place newer entries at the bottom of the list. You are free to list any article you wish related to any country or topic in Africa. State whether it's a new article/stub/a destubbing, an article cleanup/expansion/ref improvement, Good/Featured Article etc, and credit yourself after it. Add entries to the list below with a # so the numbers will count. Entries improved since the beginning of September 2016 may be added to the list. See the article list on the British 10,000 Challenge for how to list correctly. Let's begin editing towards this!
