The operas of the month for June are three operas on the African-American experience.

• Gershwin's Porgy and Bess – This was a former featured article. The Featured Article Review which demoted it provides suggestions for improvement.
• Scott Joplin's Treemonisha – The citation style needs serious improvement, one section is tagged for having the style of a magazine article, and the performance history and synopsis need expansion and fact-checking.
• Richard Danielpour's Margaret Garner – The article needs restructuring, expansion and improved citations.
