— The Opera of the Month collaboration focuses on improving existing articles. —

The operas of the month for September are seven works by Donizetti which lack synopses or have minimal synopses in need of expansion:

• Synopses are needed for: Il castello di Kenilworth (1829); Anna Bolena (1830); Parisina (1833); Maria Stuarda (1835); and Maria Padilla (1841)
• Expanded synopses are needed for: Roberto Devereux (1837) and Maria di Rohan (1843)

Work on related articles:

• A revision and expansion of the Italian opera article, particularly the sections concerning the 19th and 20th centuries.
• Creation of articles on the following Donizetti role creators, all of whom have articles in Grove: Adelaide Tosi and Luigia Boccabadati (Il castello di Kenilworth); Elisa Orlandi (Anna Bolena); Domenico Reina and Ignazio Marini (Maria Stuarda); Paolo Barroilhet (Roberto Devereux); Eugenia Tadolini, Carlo Guasco and Gustav Hölzel (Maria di Rohan)
