Shouldn't the article be titled "Looting during the Russian invasion of Ukraine"? "Sacking" to me seems like a word you would use to talk about something that happened in the year 1023, not 2023. The article itself never once uses the word "sack" or "sacking", only calling it "looting". HappyWith (talk) 05:10, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agree: I would change it due to it sounding old and timely as well, but I don't know how large of a consensus we need in order to do that. RowanJ LP2 (talk) 13:23, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll submit an RM. HappyWith (talk) 18:04, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sacking by Russian forces during the Russian invasion of UkraineLooting by Russian forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine – "Looting" is the word more used in sources to refer to the actions, and "sacking" is a very odd old-timey word to use for something that is happening in the 2020s. Support As mentioned in the discussion "Title". RowanJ LP2 (talk) 18:08, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. "Sacking" sounds like termination of employment. BD2412 T 18:54, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Looting is the act of stealing in wartime, including individual, mass, and organized acts. Pillage is the more specific act of violently looting by combatants (I believe it is a current term in the laws of war). Sacking is mass pillaging of a town.  —Michael Z. 14:09, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure if “by Russian forces” needs to be there, which could be inferred to mean looting by Ukrainian forces is intentionally excluded. I would also support Looting during the Russian invasion of Ukraine for the WP:CRITERION of concision.  —Michael Z. 14:13, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I’m also fine with this proposal, I didn’t immediately propose that title because I feared it would be more controversial. HappyWith (talk) 05:01, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
