This section is here to provide answers to some questions that have been previously discussed on this talk page.
Q1: Why does the lead of this article say that posts on Parler often contain antisemitism?
A1: A request for comment determined that this statement should be included in the lead: Talk:Parler/Archive 2#RfC: Should "antisemitism" be removed from the lead? Q2: Why does this article look different than articles about other social networks, like Twitter?
A2: The coverage of Parler in reliable sources is very different from the coverage of Twitter. We strive to represent fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic (WP:NPOV), and so if the sourcing is very different, the articles will be too. If you think changes need to be made to another article, please discuss them at that article's talk page. When contributing to this talk page, please keep in mind WP:OTHERCONTENT.It is worth noting that this article is quite similar to other articles on social networks and websites which are also known for extremist userbases, such as Gab, 8chan, BitChute, etc. |
The subject of this article is controversial and content may be in dispute. When updating the article, be bold, but not reckless. Parler is not down[edit]
Why do you state in the article that Parler is down while it is not? What we are dealing with here is disinformation. 37.30.122.247 (talk) 15:32, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

- @Slatersteven Just enter parler.com 37.30.122.247 (talk) 16:51, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- That does not mean it is the same thing. We need RS saying it is. As this appears to be a blog, not a social, networking site. Slatersteven (talk) 16:53, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

- That is 2 years old, Parler was taken down this year. Slatersteven (talk) 17:09, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

- Three weeks ago -> https://cybernews.com/news/parlers-website-is-back-online-but-app-still-not-in-stores/
- When informing on Parler being down you do not differentiate among blog/page/social platform.
- You reduce it to the statement (exact quote) -> "parler.com currently down"
- It's manipulation. 37.30.123.131 (talk) 17:58, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- This seems to just be an updated article about the old taking down, not saying it is back on line "Matze asked in a message dated Saturday, posted above a note from the company saying the platform would be restored after challenges were resolved.". Slatersteven (talk) 18:07, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

- Untill an RS (not talking about old news) is provided saying the social media site (not a blog using its name) is back on line I oppose any change. Slatersteven (talk) 18:08, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Slatersteven OK, fine, I understand that. But do not leave "parler.com currently down" as everyone can enter parler.com. The way it is expressed now is appalling. 37.30.123.131 (talk) 19:57, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- The statement about its downtime in the current article also cites two archives of Parler.com, and not a secondary source. So I don't see why we shouldn't update the article accordingly? RenoBun (talk) 03:19, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Not done: It is both unclear precisely what change you are requesting, and also not an uncontroversial change, per Slatersteven's comment. PianoDan (talk) 21:44, 7 March 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia page says parler was a social networking app. It should say parler is a social networking app, you can download it on the Google Play store right now.[edit]
