Hi, I'm Guy from Belgium and I joined Wikipedia in May 2002. I find the idea of creating an encyclopedia with so many contributors with different interests and backgrounds fascinating and challenging. My main personal fields of interest are Australia, geography, travelling, Flanders/Belgium and Dutch (my mother tongue). So I guess you'll see me contributing mainly to these subjects. I'll probably write a few of my own too.

Some of my contributions include (N = new article/stub; E = edit):

In the pipeline:

  • Make the article layout about years (like 2000) identical. For example:
    • The subtitle order is not the same on every page. Sometimes the order is events - births - deaths, on other pages it's births - deaths - events.
    • The same goes for the subtitle choice. Sometimes only the three mentioned above are used, on other pages there's a whole range of subtitles.
    • Some specific events are included under events, on other pages they are listed under a specific event subtitle (such as sport, film, etc...), and sometimes it's a mix.
    • Sometimes dates of birth/death are included under events.
    • Must I continue? I think the article layout about dates (like January 1) is much better organised. This would be a good starting point.
  • Write short biographies about the Belgian kings: Leopold II, Albert I, Leopold III, Baudouin I, Albert II.
  • Edit the articles about the different continents: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and South America.
