Andrew S. Tanenbaum is the head of Dept. of Computer Systems, Vrije Universiteit. He teaches courses about Computer Organization and Operating Systems.
He is well recognized for his computer books, especially

- Operating Systems: Design and Implementation
- Modern Operating Systems
He has written Minix, a free UNIX clone.
