The Madygen Formation is a Triassic-age geologic formation in Kyrgyzstan. It consists of terrestrial lacustrine (lake) and fluvial (river) deposits. Many vertebrate fossils have been found from the formation, including those of cartilaginous fishes and unusual Triassic reptiles like Sharovipteryx and Longisquama.[1][2]
