Annona bullata

Annona bullata is a species of plant in the Annonaceae family. It is native to Cuba.[1] Several bioactive molecules known as acetogenins [2] have been isolated from its bark including: bullatacin, which has pesticidal activity[3]; bullatalicin, which is selectively cytotoxic to human tumor cells[4]; and bullatanocinone, which highly cytotoxic to lung and colon cancer cells[5]

Description

A tree 50-60 feet in height. Prominent features include fleshy fruit and fragrant wood.[6]

Reproductive biology

The pollen of Annona bullata is shed as permanent tetrads.[7]
