Alison Wright (born 12 July 1976) is an English actress, best known for her role as Martha Hanson on The Americans and Marjorie on Sneaky Pete.

Early life

Wright was born in Sunderland and raised there by adoptive parents.[1] She began dancing at a young age. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and at The Barrow Group in New York City.[2]

Career

She made her television debut in 2013 as Martha Hanson on The Americans. She was promoted to a series regular for season 2, which premiered in January 2014.[3] .[4] In 2017, Wright received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her guest appearance in The Americans fifth season.
