Beautiful Times is a song by American electronica project Owl City feautirng American violinist Lindsey Stirling. Is the first single from Owl City's fourth extended play, Ultraviolet. The song was written by Adam Young.

Background and release

From March 31 to April 2, 2014, Young revealed the album artwork for a single, "Beautiful Times", through his Instagram account.[1][2] Later, Young published a letter in Owl City's official website talking about Ocean Eyes fifth anniversary and his intends to release a steady "series of EPs" in 2014 rather than one larger recording.[3] On June 5, 2014, Young announced that the first extended play would be titled Ultraviolet. On June 17, the EP was set for pre-order on iTunes and was to be released on June 27.[4][5][6][7] The single, "Beautiful Times", was also to be released as one of the four tracks on the release.[4]

Music Video

Starting on June 19, through many forms of social media, Young stated the official music video for "Beautiful Times" would be premiering on June 26.[8][9][10][11] On June 25, the day before the premiere, Young posted a preview from the video.[12] The "Beautiful Times" music video, directed by Everdream, debuted the next day on Rolling Stone's website.[13]

The video was also uploaded to Owl City's Vevo channel on YouTube. It features Adam Young and Lindsey Stirling playing the song inside a little closet in a boy's bedroom, while the boy watches a spark dance all over his room.
