An airport taxiway, one of the uses of blacktop.

Blacktop is a composite material which is used to pave roads and streets.[1]

Although asphalt is a basic material to make blacktop, it is commonly called simply asphalt,.[2] The terms "asphalt (or asphaltic) concrete", "bituminous asphalt concrete", and "bituminous mixture" are typically used only in engineering and construction documents and literature.
