Bobby Dale Earnhardt (born September 1, 1987)[1] is an American professional stock car racing driver. He currently competes part-time in the ARCA Racing Series, driving the No. 3 Chevrolet for Hixson Motorsports.[2]

Racing career

Earnhardt raced in the ARCA Truck Series from 2013 to 2016 where he won Rookie of the Year in 2013. On May 21, 2017, he made his major stock car debut in the ARCA Racing Series, driving the No. 3 Chevrolet for Hixson Motorsports. He started 24th, and finished 21st after a crash on lap 165. Even with the crash he finished 45 laps off the pace. When he started this race, he became the third fourth-generation driver to compete in the ARCA Racing Series, with Adam Petty being the first and Adam's cousin/Richard Petty's other grandson, Thad Moffitt, being the second. Not only is Bobby a fourth-generation driver himself, but he and his younger brother Jeffrey became the first set of fourth-generation brothers in stock car history. [2] Earnhardt was scheduled to make his Xfinity Series debut driving the No. 40 Dodge Challenger for MBM Motorsports at Iowa. However, sponsorship issues forced him to make his debut at August Iowa race, where he drove the No. 13 for MBM. He failed to qualify for the race.[3]

Family life

Bobby is a fourth-generation stock car driver. He is the biological brother of Jeffrey Earnhardt, the eldest son/child of Kerry Earnhardt, nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr., the eldest grandson/grandchild of NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Dale Earnhardt, and the eldest great-grandson/great-grandchild of Ralph Earnhardt. Other than Jeffrey being his biological brother, he also has 2 other siblings; a half-sister named Kayla, and a stepsister named Blade. Bobby is married to his wife Kimberly, and they have a son named Brylon Dale, who was born on July 24, 2015.
