Broughton High School is in north Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a local authority school, noted for its music department: the City of Edinburgh Music School. It is currently next to Inverleith Park, next to private school Fettes College, but was formerly in Broughton proper, where poet Hugh MacDiarmid taught.

Mission statement

The school's motto Fortier et Recte is Latin for 'to have the strength to do the right thing'.
