The Cambridge University Boat Club (CUBC) is one of the rowing clubs of the University of Cambridge, England (in addition to Cambridge University Women's Boat Club and Cambridge University Lightweight Rowing Club). The club was founded in 1828 and has been located at the Goldie Boathouse on the River Cam, Cambridge since 1880. Nowadays, training primarily takes place on the River Great Ouse at Ely.

CUBC is considered as a significant university rowing club in Britain,^{[citation needed]}, having produced several Olympic-level rowers.^[1]^[2] The club races against the Oxford University Boat Club (OUBC) in The Boat Race on the River Thames in London each year. When rowing on the Thames, both the Blue Boat and Goldie boat from King's College School's Boat House.

History

The club was one of only five clubs which retained the right to directly appoint representatives to the Council of British Rowing. The others were Leander Club, London Rowing Club, Thames Rowing Club and Oxford University Boat Club. ^[3] This right was, however, removed from those five clubs in September 2012. ^[4]
