Carlien Dirkse van den Heuvel (born 16 April 1987) is a Dutch field hockey player. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team in the women's event.[1] Fox News notes her as one of ten LGBT Olympians to medal in London.[2]

Private life

Carlien is lesbian and had a relationship with her national team-mate Maartje Paumen.[3]
