Category:Category series navigation default season gap size

This is a tracking category. It is used to build and maintain lists of pages—primarily for the sake of the lists themselves and their use in article and category maintenance. It is not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme. More information: This category is hidden on its member pages—unless the corresponding user preference (Appearance → Show hidden categories) is set. These categories are used to track, build and organize lists of pages needing "attention en masse" (for example, pages using deprecated syntax), or that may need to be edited at someone's earliest convenience. These categories also serve to aggregate members of several lists or sub-categories into a larger, more efficient list (discriminated by classifications). Typically, tracking categories are automatically populated by templates invoked in pages or by the MediaWiki software (see Special:TrackingCategories for an overview of the latter).

This maintenance/tracking category contains pages that:

1. the {{Category series navigation}} function navhyphen was unable to determine the gap size between any immediate surrounding seasons, and
2. are a member of Category:Category series navigation isolated, in case the inability to determine a gap size is the cause of the apparent isolation.

Module:Category series navigation searches on either side of the parent category for existing categories matching the same naming format, and with progressively larger gap sizes, up to and including 5 years. If no immediately adjacent categories exist, then a default gap size of 0 is used, since overlapping seasons (2001–02, 2002–03, etc.) are the most common. Options include:

• fill in the surrounding category structure, if appropriate
• use {{Category pair|preceding category|succeeding category}} in addition to {{Category series navigation}}
• remove {{Category series navigation}} if it will likely never show links and it does not serve the useful role of confirming the absence of nearby categories

Do not create empty surrounding categories for the sole purpose of removing this category.

Pages in this category should only be added by Module:Category series navigation.
