Category:Dormant baronetcies in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Many creations in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia were made to heirs male, rather than heirs male of the body, meaning that they could be inherited by collateral relatives of the 1st Baronet, not just his descendants. In many cases it is very difficult to trace these relatives if they become in line to succeed, so the baronetcy becomes dormant.
