Islam (Arabic: الإسلام) is an Abrahamic, monotheistic religion characterised by the acceptance of the doctrine of submission to Allah (God) and the Prophet Muhammad as the chief and last prophet of God. A Muslim (follower of Islam) maintains belief in the Qur'an as the word of God and the final book of divine guidance and direction for mankind.
