Category:Muwallads

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muwallads is a catch-all term for Muslims who were descendants of Early Medieval native Iberian converts to Islam and whose origins were, among other possibilities, Celto-Roman, Gothic, or Basque. The so-called Elches or Renegades from the Late Middle Ages, specifically those of Castilian, Basque-Navarrese, Aragonese, Catalan, and other Iberian origin, are included also in this category.
