The formal boundaries of London local government changed in 1965 - should by-elections before then in areas not within London boundaries at the time be included in this category? Currently this affects Orpington. Timrollpickering 02:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Following a comment on the talk page for Orpington, I'm removing it from this category. Timrollpickering 14:27, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This would again seem to be an issue. This category currently includes a number of by-elections before 1965 for place that were at that time not in London and which in most cases would not have ever been considered London by-elections at the time they were held. For instance 1916 Wimbledon by-election - Wimbledon was in Surrey at this time , 1930 Bromley by-election - the article notes the constituency was in Kent and 1915 Uxbridge by-election - Uxbridge was in Middlesex.
