Category clutter[edit]

There's no real need that I can see for this and several other categories to be placed directly in Category:String instruments, where they only contribute to category clutter. This and the others are easily found in the obvious category trees. Redundant categorization defeats the whole purpose of setting up logical cat trees. Why the special pleading for this one? The reason is due to the extreme difficulty for most of our users to find banjo-type instruments in the current categorization system. Badagnani (talk) 01:49, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But how could anybody possibly have trouble finding a sub-cat for lutes in the parent cat for lutes, Badagnani?? I, of course, left Category:Banjo family instruments right there, since that is a distinct term whose parent cats probably would not be obvious to the average reader. I am always very mindful of the need for readers to find things as easily as possible -- and I would gladly concede to your wishes if there was any real reason to do so. Please take a minute and think this through more clearly. Regards, Cgingold (talk) 09:53, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
