[edit]I noticed most of the categories and subcategories for this article, each of which only appear to have 3 or 4 people listed in each. For some, there are fractured subcategories made up of: combined ethnicities, expats, emigrants/immigrants, ambassadors, and politicians. It might make more sense to reorganize this from Category to an Article or two, to better organize.
Here's an example of what I mean:
Currently Syrian descent is:
- People of Syrian descent
- Middle Eastern people of Syrian descent
- Iraqi people of Syrian descent
- Syrian expatriates in Iraq
- Ambassadors of Syria to Iraq
WP:CAT indicates that categories are good for relating things based off of a common defining characteristic, and the characteristic here would be the genealogical origin. If the purpose of Categories is to find sets of pages on a topic quickly for huge amounts of data, then I think it's unclear whether this Category is meeting that objective properly. This is to say, in my opinion it makes more sense to replace this with an article of notable people of Syrian descent due to the relatively small amount of data within it, Categories seems like a bit overkill.
