Celebrity Bluff is a Philippine comedy game show presented by Eugene Domingo and broadcast by GMA Network. The program premiered nationwide on November 17, 2012 and worldwide on November 24, 2012 via GMA Pinoy TV. The show originally featured the comic-duo Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola as the original members of the "Gangnammms" (also known as Celebrity Bluffers), which now includes the "Master Bluffer" Edu Manzano along with the returning Celebrity Bluffers, Boobay and Brod Pete, with featuring Super Tekla, Boobsie Wonderland & One Up.[1][2] The program marked the beginning of its 13th season on June 3, 2017, replacing the evening variety show Full House Tonight in its former Saturday primetime timeslot.
History
On September 2013, Bayola left the show after facing a major scandal.[3] He was then replaced by stand-up comedian Boobay and Isko "Brod Pete" Salvador who later became regular bluffers until season 12.
On November 2015, after its 3rd anniversary episode, Manalo decided not to renew his contract for a new season due to busy schedules, at the same time Salvador also left the show before the season ended.[4] The two were replaced by several guests such as Betong Sumaya, Boobsie, Jerald Napoles, Ai Ai delas Alas and Pauleen Luna among others.
On February 4, 2016, the director, who is also known for directing Bubble Gang, Uro dela Cruz, died at the age of 64.
The show went on a season break after its season 12 finale on February 20, 2016, it was temporarily replaced by Lip Sync Battle Philippines.[5]
On November 2016, Boobay suffered from a mild-stroke. He recovered In January 2017.
The game show return to Saturday evening timeslot on June 3, 2017, replacing Full House Tonight. It was supposed to have a daily edition of this show but later cancelled.
Gameplay
In the game proper, three contestants/couples attempt to outwit one another by answering questions to advance to the succeeding rounds.
In round one called Fact or Bluff, three players individually answer questions. The celebrity bluffers also referred to as gangnammmm will either help or trick the players by providing answers to the questions. The players have to decide whether their chosen bluffer's answer is a fact or a bluff. If answered correctly, the players get to keep the cash prize for that question otherwise the cash prize will be split between the opponents.
In round two called Word War, with the help of the clues given by the bluffer, the players will then race to solve each three word puzzles to advance to the final round. The first word is worth P5,000, the second word is P7,000 and the last word is P9,000. The player with the highest accumulated points moves on to the final round
In its 12th season, they introduced a new segment, Top 10 (now renamed as "Tough 10") on which the players should answer 10 questions only using Fact or Bluff. At the end, you should have at least 8 correct answers to proceed to win P500,000,00.[6] Noah was the first ever winner.
