In 2008, it received the go ahead from the government to build a new school to be finished in 2013. The school was built to hold 350 students. The school currently has approximately 270 students. It opened in 2000, becoming the VEC's third All-Irish School. Pupils from the surrounding areas of Carrigart, Termon and Strabane also enrolled in the school. The Principal is Micheál Ó Giobúin.[2][3]

It was one of only two schools in Donegal to avail of the funds, the other being Moville Community College.
