Desperate Housewives Africa is a mystery,comedy and Comedy TV series that premiered on Ebony Life TV in 2015 .It is an adaptation of American hit series,Desperate Housewives that aired from 2004-2012.The show featured an ensembled cast of headed by Omotu Bissong,Nini Wacera,Kehinde Bankole ,Michelle Dede,Marcy Dolapo Oni and Linda Osifo. The show was shot in Lagos City in Nigeria with the cast members being Africans.The show was also minimally adapted to African themes from cast members names to the main plot but the main characters had the same role as those in the original version.
Production
Directed by Quinty Pillay the cast was mainly Nigerians that had change of names compared to the original version that were adapted by African names.Michelle Dede plays Susan Mayer while Nini Wacera a Kenyan actress plays the adapted version of Bree Van de Kamp as Kehinde Bankole plays Gabrielle Solis.Omotu Bissong plays african version of Lynette Scavo,Mercy Dolapo Oni plays of Mary Alice Young and Linda Osifo plays african version of Edie Britt. The supposed 'husbands' that depicted the original version were,Joseph Benjamin plays african version of Carlos Solis,Larry Izama plays Mike Delphino,Femi Branch plays Paul Young,Ben Touitou plays african version John Rawland,Ozzy Agu plays Tom Scavo and Samuel Robinson plays Zach Young .[3]
Plot
Deals with the problems that a select group of housewives comes across ranging from marital issues, family matters, and adultery. All the while, they also try to figure out the mysterious death of one of their neighbors.

The show has seen much success since it was launched and is credited to be one of the leading African produced shows of the decade.
