Dick McCann was an Australian comedian and TV personality,[1] based on Brisbane's Channel 7 in the late 60s[2] and early 70s. As well as performing on Theatre Royal(1960–69), he presented the Children's Hour in the afternoon.[3]

He is well remembered for his character Beanpole[4] due to his lanky appearance.

McCann won three Logie Awards,[5]

  • 1969 Best Male Personality (Queensland)
  • 1970 Best Local Show (Queensland)
