Tereza Pištěková (born 3 June 2005) is a Czech ice hockey player and member of the Czech national team, currently playing in the Finnish Naisten Liiga (NSML) with HPK Kiekkonaiset.
Playing career[edit]
In 2021, Pištěková joined the boys' under-17 (U17) team of IHC Králové Písek in the Liga dorostu, the Czech second-tier men's U17 league. She seriously considered quitting ice hockey early in the season, when she felt her development was stalling and balancing an hour commute from school to practice, a demanding off-ice conditioning schedule, and maintaining her studies became exhausting. Her parents and coach encouraged her to stick with the sport and helped her overcome her doubts. She transferred mid-season to HC Příbram, initially playing in the youth department but was soon recruited to the women's team in the Czech Women's Extraliga (Extraliga žen).[1]
Ahead of the 2022–23 season, she received offers to play internationally from teams in Finland and the United States. After deciding she didn't want to be so far from her family, Pištěková did not pursue the North American option but the offer from TPS Naiset in Finland interested her and she ultimately signed with team. Her teammate from HC Příbram and the Czech national U18 team, Eliška Hotová, joined TPS at the same time.

Personal life[edit]
Pištěková was born on 3 June 2005 in Tábor, Czechia and spent her early years living in Milevsko. Her family relocated to České Budějovice when she was young and she grew up calling the city home.[4]
Her older brother, Theodor Pištěk, is also an ice hockey player, a winger.
