Olga Rubtsowa en Kira Zvorykina uit de USSR winnen het toernooi van oa A. Van der Veen (lokale invaller voor Fenny Heemskerk) en Toos Roodzant, Ingrid Larsen uit Denemarken en Hilda (H.F.) Chater uit Ierland. Fenny Heemskerk, die wegens familieomstandigheden niet deelnam aan het toernooi, woont de prijsuitreiking bij.
English: Newsreels in which Dutch subjects of a certain week are presented.; World Championships Chess for women's national teams in Emmen led by Grandmaster O'Kelly. (1st Women's Chess Olympiad: Emmen 1957). Olga Rubtsowa and Kira Zvorykina from the USSR win the tournament from a.o. Van der Veen and Toos Roodzant, Ingrid Larsen from Denmark and Hilda (H.F.) Chater from Ireland. Fenny Heemskerk, who couldn't participate owing to family circumstances, witnesses the award ceremony. ("Two English women can be seen briefly at around 16 seconds into the clip - Elaine Pritchard (wearing an Alice band) and Eileen Tranmer. By reference to the position on Mrs Pritchard's board it is possible to deduce that they were playing Hungary in the last round on 20 September 1957.")
