English: The schooner Governor Ames preparing for launch, Leavitt-Storer Shipyard, Waldeboro, Maine. The Governor Ames was the first five-masted schooner built on the East Coast. She later sank off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, in December 1909, drowning 11 sailors.
