This historic image was captured in 1969, during a ceremony, at which this proud father’s child received what was the 100 millionth smallpox vaccination, during the world smallpox eradication effort. In the background, wearing sunglasses, was Dr. J.D. Millar, Director, Bureau of State Services, Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and Mr. Gordon Robbins, Bureau of Smallpox Eradication, CDC.
