Entire image (2.35:1 aspect ratio) to preserve the episode's cinematography and avoid misrepresenting the work in any way.

Low resolution?

Low: the video has been compressed and downscaled to 480 x 270 pixels, less than .1 megapixels in size for each frame, downgraded from the original resolution of anamorphic 853 x 480 pixels. Assuming a frame rate of 24p, the 29 seconds contained in this video contains roughly 696 frames out of a total of roughly 69864—1 percent of the total motion picture. The file has been encoded three times and the video has been compressed to a bit rate of roughly 1.2 MBps, much less than the source file, as well as a reduction in audio bit rate. Copies made from this video will be inferior to the original DVD, preserving commercial opportunities, and unsuitable for illegal uses being such a small portion of the film.

Purpose of use

The clip is used to illustrate "Where Do We Go From Here?" in the only musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. After all the secrets the characters have been hiding throughout the season have been divulged, they wonder aloud and with choreographed movements, what will become of them as individuals, as couples, and as a group. The episode begins with a representation of false confidence in "If We're Together", and the musical theatre format allows the characters to express their deepest emotions. The clip shows the characters coming together from all directions, holding hands, then flinging them away in a piece of what Joss Whedon calls "literal choreography". The costumes of the characters are complementary among the couples and each of the eight character wears a color in the visible spectrum. The song, movements, and costumes have been noted by scholars to represent the relation of each individual character to the group. "Where Do We Go From Here?" segues into the rest of the season. These issues are discussed and cited in the article, but words are insufficient in relaying the concepts as a whole and an audio-visual representation of what the cast and producers were trying to accomplish is necessary for readers to understand the entire ideas presented in the article and the episode.
