English: Entrance of where the historic Matthew Henson Public Housing Project once stood. The Matthew Henson Public Housing Project was built in 1940 and provided affordable housing for the African-American community. The Matthew Henson Public Housing Project District is located on the west side of Seventh Avenue just south of the Sherman Street alignment. It was named as a historic district by the Phoenix Historic Property Register in June 2005.
