Summary[edit]

Composite of two shots from the Albuquerque North Diversion Channel, taken myself.

I had to modify the picture since the peak was not very discernible from a single exposure. According to my calculations, the peak was 52.9 miles (85.1 kilometers) from where I took the picture. An under-exposure was laid on top of the normal exposure, and set to "burn" mode in the GIMP. Also, the unsharp mask was applied, which added clarity but also graininess.

It is my intention to get a larger, clearer image from closer or at a higher altitude on a clearer day. It should stay in the Albuquerque area. The Petroglyph National Monument or the Balloon Fiesta Park might be a good locations.
