English: "La Nouvelle Mode ou l'Ecossais à Paris", hand-coloured engraving, from series of 14 fashion prints Les Alliés à Paris en 1815, Scènes de Moeurs. Description: Soldier of a Scottish regiment dressed in a uniform jacket, collar and cuffs in contrasting colour, in a tartan kilt; bayonet in a bandolier with buckle; further accessories: shako with feathers, checkered cloth tied around the legs, shoes with gaiters. Next to him is a woman, dressed in a long-sleeved dress with a checkered tunic, with a scalloped hem with contrasting trim, over a white dress; a hat with ostrich feathers; further accessories: gloves, lorgnette, parasol trimmed with fringes, shoes with gaiters.
