Foxit was founded in the United States in 2001. The company has quickly expanded internationally with offices in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. In 2004, Foxit released its flagship product, Foxit Reader along with its bestselling desktop product, Foxit PDF Editor. In 2009, Foxit Software Company was incorporated as Foxit Corporation.
Foxit was awarded the Minority Global Technology Firm of the Year in August 2011 by the Minority Business Development Association (MBDA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce. The award recognizes firms for establishing best practices and for their exemplary accomplishments in advancing minority business enterprises.[2]

- Foxit Reader is a small, fast, and feature rich PDF viewer which allows the user to open, view, and print any PDF file. Foxit PDF Reader includes features like annotations, forms filling, highlighting text, and the ability to add text to PDF documents.
- Foxit Phantom PDF Suite is a PDF toolkit that is seen as an alternative to Adobe Acrobat.
- Foxit PDF Creator is a small and fast PDF creation tool (virtual printer) which converts any type of printable Windows document, including DOC, XLS, PPT, TXT, E-MAIL and even HTML, to a universally accepted PDF format with the click of a button.
- Foxit PDF Editor allows the user to modify any page contents within any PDF document. The user can select, insert, change, remove, rotate, copy and paste texts, images, graphics and shadings. The user can insert, import, delete pages or design page layout.
- Foxit PDF Security Suite delivers PDF policy protection and PDF reader extensions capabilities to any business running Microsoft Windows Server® or Sharepoint® with Active Directory® Rights Management Services (AD RMS).
- Foxit PDF IFilter is designed to help users index a large amount of PDF documents and then quickly find text within these documents.
