"Fuck Him He's a DJ" is a song by American recording artist and songwriter Kesha, from her first remix album, I Am the Dance Commander + I Command You to Dance: The Remix Album (2011). The song was written by Kesha alongside Tom Neville, Olivia Nervo, Miriam Nervo, with production done by Neville. It is the only song on the remix album that had been previously unreleased, instead of being a remixed version of a released song.
Background and delayed release
"Fuck Him He's a DJ" was written by Kesha, along with The Nervo Twins and Tom Nellive, who produced the track. It was recorded for Kesha's debut album, Animal (2010). However, it did not make the final cut of the album, following its leak. It was considered for her first EP, Cannibal but again did not make the album. It was later included on her first headlining tour, The Get Sleazy Tour, which led to its delayed release as track four on I Am the Dance Commander + I Command You to Dance: The Remix Album. In areas where the remix album wasn't released, such as the United Kingdom, it was released as the B-side to "Blow" on the single EP.
Composition
"Fuck Him He's A DJ" draws from a variety of genres, including synthpop, electro-rock and grime music. Over a huge electronic synth, Kesha sings "Fuck Him He's A DJ / All night long he's got the beat / Fuck Him He's A DJ / Keep playing that song it works for me," before she continues to adopt her rap-sing style throughout the verse singing lyrics like "He's a stereotype / He's got the baseball cap" and "You see we share the same god / We've got the same love."
