György Aczél (born Henrik Appel; 31 August, Budapest, 1917 – 6 December 1991, Vienna) was a Hungarian communist politician and a member of the Political Committee (Politikai Bizottság) of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party (1970–1988).

In most of the period 1956–1988 he directed the cultural life of Kádár's Hungary.
