Hitachiōmiya (常陸大宮市, Hitachiōmiya-shi) is a city located in northwestern Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 48,108 and a density of 100.74 persons per km². The total area is 348.38 km².

The modern city of Hitachiōmiya was established on October 16, 2004, from the merger of the former town of Ōmiya absorbing the villages of Miwa and Ogawa (all from Naka District), the town of Yamagata, and the village of Gozenyama (both from Higashiibaraki District).
