Halil İbrahim Demiraslan (born 23 April 1996), popularly known as Ibo Aslan, is a Turkish professional mixed martial artist. He qualified for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in 2023 by winning his fight against Paulo Renato Jr. He defeated his UFC 308 opponent Rafael Cerqueria by knockout.
Life and career
[edit]Halil İbrahim Demiraslan was born on 23 April 1996 in Akçaören village of Altunhisar.[1][2][3] When he was only seven years old, the family moved to Austria because of his father's job.[4] At the age of thirteen, he could not enjoy football and turned to martial arts.[4] He was first interested in kickboxing, then wrestling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.[4]
Aslan, who competed in the Brave Combat Federation between 2020 and 2023, won his fight against Paulo Renato Jr. at Dana White's Contender Series in 2023 and qualified for the UFC.[5] His first professional fight in the UFC was against Anton Turkalj, whom he had previously defeated, and defeated him by technical knockout in the third round.[6]
In his second fight at UFC 308, he defeated Rafael Cerqueria by knockout 51 seconds into the first round.[7][8][9]
