Independent Center

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Independent Center is the go to destination for research, insights and advocacy on behalf of American independent voters.

Starting in 2023/2024 the Independent Center identified an opportunity in analyzing independent voters in the United States. In the past voters have been assessed as either Democrats for Republicans. The prevailing analysis and polling came from this lens, denying the opportunity to understand these voters in their own right. These voters have typically been assumed to be undecided.

In 2024 Gallop polling found as many as 51% of American voters identified as independent, an all time high. This was reflected in the 2024 Election exit polls, finding that independent voters were either equal to or the second largest voting group, ahead of the Democrats.

The Independent Center's research has incorporated nonpartisan polling, done in conjunction with The Bullfinch Group, and advanced data science and data insights work. This effort has determined that independent voters are a cohesive moderate/centrist audience who look for balance with a focus on social tolerance and fiscal responsibility. This focus on balance has meant that independent voters hold the key to determining the party that wins government, neither party has the numbers to win without these voters. Independent voters have swung in each of the last elections.

Key polling insights from the Independent Center include deep dives in the national voter sentiment, LGBTQ voters, swing state analysis, and millennial/Gen Z surveys. The Independent Center's innovative polling and research has been published in leading media including ABC, Newsweek, Fox, Daily Mail, Real Clear Politics, The Hill and many others.

The Independent Center is not a political party. It is organized as a grassroots focused movement, seeking the public to engage, participate and drive policy direction. More information can be found here: Independent Center website.
