Kanhan has seen a lot of glory in the past and has been one of the richest Panchayats in the region - to boast it had thriving industry in the form of Khandelwal Group, Brooke Bond, Indian Hume Pipe, Paper mills and WCL. Today other than WCL most of the other industries are closed. One other reason for Kanhan to prosper was the fact that it is on the popular National Highway 7. |
