This is a list of the men who have served in the capacity of Minister President or equivalent office in Bavaria from the 17th century to the present:

Geheime Ratskanzler[edit]

Privy Council chancellors (Geheime Ratskanzler) were:

  • 1650–1662: Johann Adlzreiter von Tettenweis (de)
  • 1662–1667: Johann Georg Oexle
  • 1667–1693: Kaspar von Schmid (de)
  • 1695–1704: Johann Rudolf von Wämpl (de)
  • 1704–1714: Vacant
  • 1726–1749: Franz Xaver Josef von Unertl
  • 1749–1758: Franz Xaver Andreas von Praidlohn (de)
  • 1758–1790: Wiguläus von Kreittmayr (de)

Ministers of Foreign Affairs, since 1806 Ministers of the Royal House and of Foreign Affairs[edit]

Before 1849 Bavaria had no actual head of government, but the Minister of Foreign Affairs was the most senior of the ministers.

Chairmen of the Council of Ministers[edit]

The office of Chairman of the Council of Ministers was established in 1849. With one exception (1880–1890), the Chairman was always the Foreign Minister.
